"Field of Dreams" at Chase Field- another WIN for the K Foundation
July 3, 2008

Brandon Webb earned another "W" both on and off the field on Thursday, July 3 when he hosted a group of kids from St. Joseph Hospital as a part of his "Field of Dreams" program. The kids were invited to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field. The goal of this program is to offer a once in a lifetime experience to chronically or critically ill children and their families. "Every day is a new challenge for these families and we just wanted to do something fun for them that they could remember forever," said Webb.

Each participant was escorted through the player entrance into the locker room, which is located directly behind home plate. They all received a Brandon Webb jersey, a K Foundation t-shirt, an autographed picture of Brandon and a Diamondbacks hat as a keepsake to remember the day. Dan Haren, a friend of the K Foundation and starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks, even made a surprise appearance and gave the kids a sneak peek into the "day in the life of an Arizona Diamondback". He shared tales of the locker room and highlighted special moments for him and his teammates.

After loading up on autographs and gear, the children were taken to their reserved seats where they watched the Diamondbacks score 6 runs in a 9th inning rally to snag another win. The K Foundation would like to thank our partners at the Arizona Diamondbacks and St. Joseph Hospital for their support and dedication to creating a unique and thrilling opportunity!
