Diamondback for a Day program is a HOME RUN!
September 17, 2005
On September 17th, a group of children from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona participated in the K Foundation's first Diamondback for a Day program.

"Littles" along with their "Bigs" gathered at Bank One Ballpark prior to the start of the D-backs game against the Colorado Rockies. Each child received a K Foundation duffle bag full of goodies; including a Brandon Webb jersey, Arizona Diamondbacks t-shirt and a stash of school supplies.

After a behind-the-scenes look at the ballpark, Diamondback for a Day participants were ushered into an auxiliary locker room. Within minutes they were greeted by Brandon's teammate, Luis Gonzalez. "Gonzo" took time to visit with the children and spoke of the importance of staying in school and obeying their parents. At the end of the meet and greet session, each child received an autographed Luis Gonzalez photo.

Still bubbling with excitement, the group proceeded to their seats where they took in the baseball game.

Thank you emails from "Littles" and "Bigs" are still coming into the K Foundation office - we look forward to next year's event!
