Field of Dreams Program: Summer 2009

One of the signature programs of Brandon Webb's K Foundation is the Field of Dreams, which provides critically and chronically ill children with dream vacations and fantasy sports-related experiences. During the 2009 Diamondbacks season, between the months of April and August, the K Foundation hosted over 150 families with children who are critically and chronically ill to attend a Diamondbacks game.

"My wife and I love doing this for the kids and their families. When your child is sick, you just want to make things better. You want to take away the hurt and pain. In a lot of these cases with these kids, that is just not possible," Brandon Webb stated. " At least with this program, the kids have a few hours where they can be kids again and forget about the surgeries, treatments, and everything else. For these kids, it about baseball and having fun and judging from the smiles on their faces, that is exactly what happened."

Here's what a few of the children and parents had to say:

"Thank you for ‘taking us out to the ball game' this was really fun for me especially because I have been at home a lot for the last year recovering from surgery. I am grateful to get out and watch you beat the Cardinals!"- Madilynn

"This was the first game that we have ever been to and it was so nice to have the whole family together. Even with the loss it was one of the best times we have ever had." Says Violet, mother of a patient.

"This is something that my husband and I could not afford to do with the kids on our own. It was such a blessing and we are so grateful to Brandon and his foundation for making this an experience we will never forget." –Jones Family
